Parent Workshop Night September 4th

Just a reminder about the upcoming Parent Workshop with Jenny Mackay. Jenny will be speaking to parents on the 4th of September at 7pm in the Barbunin. She will be sharing practical skills and strategies to respond to behaviour. Jenny has worked with parents for many years and has a wealth of information and we recommend that all parents attend.

Mid-Term Reminders

Dear Parents and Caregivers of Foundation,

A few reminders:

Morning Routine (8:45-9:00):

  1. Change take home reading book.
  2. Place blue satchel (reading folder) in your classroom’s tub.
  3. Find a quiet activity (reading, drawing, puzzles).
  4. When the bell rings, tidy up and sit on the mat immediately.

Reading diaries:  Will be checked once a week by your child’s classroom teacher.

Toys:

Children have been bringing in a lot of toys from home and it is causing some arguments and friendship issues in the yard. The toys are also distracting students at eating time. There is no blanket policy about bringing toys to school. However, we would prefer if they were left at home.

Soft Start:

The purpose of Soft Start is for the children to have a calm start to their day and an opportunity to practice and consolidate their learning. We are more than happy to meet with parents at a time that is organised prior. Any concerns around play times or other learning issues need to be addressed at a scheduled meeting time.
